Working out doesn't have to be a drag... make it fun!

Last updated 2 years ago

The toughest part about exercise is getting started.  It’s tough to get out there often, but once you get to the gym, you’re always glad you went.  One way to be more excited about the gym is to change your routine a bit.

Whether you consider yourself a runner, weight-lifter, stress-reliever, or weight-loss hopeful; variety will break the monotony of any workout.  Check out these four ideas that will make your workouts more fun and productive.

1.      Exercise Ball

You may wonder why an exercise ball is a part of every gym.  It’s because they are extremely versatile, allowing you to do everything from core work to muscle conditioning.  The next time you go to the gym, use an exercise ball for squats, sit-ups, and push-ups.

2.      Workout Partner

Find a friend to join the gym with you, maybe someone with similar capabilities.  Having a workout buddy is a great way to hold you accountable while having fun in the process.

3.      Favorite TV Show

Chances are your gym has TVs in the cardio area, and this is a great way to enjoy your favorite shows while being productive.  By bringing headphones, you can plug-in without missing a thing.  You’ll also avoid snacking, which is so easy to do at home.

4.      New CD

Listen to new music.  It’s amazing what tunes can do to boost your morale and motivate your body.  In fact, if you’re overpaying at your gym, you could listen to two new albums a month with the money you save by switching to Planet Fitness.

At Planet Fitness, we offer fun, affordable workout equipment in a judgment free zone.  If you’d like to have more fun while working out, check out our Riverside and Oak Hill locations in Texas, or visit the website for the limited-time deals we are offering to new members.
